Spinach Alfredo Pizza is a delicious creamy white sauce recipe, topped with tender shredded chicken, baby spinach, mushrooms and melty mozzarella.
It’s usually the first thing I think to do when I have a little bit of leftover chicken. Double the recipe if you have more than one teenager. I can tell you that I can easily eat just about the entire pizza all by myself.

Ingredients
Homemade Alfredo Sauce
While you could use a jar of alfredo sauce, making it from scratch is incredibly quick and easy. You will be so glad you made it yourself!
The alfredo sauce is full of salty, briny goodness from the Parmesan cheese. You don’t realize the difference until you’ve tried it yourself.
You will never go back to the jar. I promise.

Spinach
Spinach and alfredo is a perfect combination. You will love it on pizza just as much as you love it with pasta.
My preference is baby spinach, though. I’ve tried the bags of regular spinach and I guess it seems bitter to me?
You can chop the spinach leaves or tear them. Or, if you want, leave them whole on the pizza. Once you cut the pizza with the cutter, it really won’t matter.
You can replace the spinach in this alfredo pizza with kale, fresh basil or escarole. Fresh basil is my favorite substitute for spinach.
Chicken
I’ve added shredded chicken breast that I had leftover from boiling chicken for Chicken Enchiladas. Because you’re making a pizza, you won’t need a lot of chicken. ½ cup to 1 full cup is all you will need.
You can use any leftover chicken. If you have some leftover rotisserie chicken, that would be perfect. I’ve used canned chicken too.
Mushrooms
I’ve used canned mushrooms. You can use fresh mushrooms, if you prefer. If you want them fully cooked, though, cut them up well, or precook them.
Homemade Pizza Dough
I prefer the homemade pizza dough recipe I make in the bread machine. If you want to make your own dough, I recommend that you check out my recipe because it’s in the bread machine and SO EASY!
Use my pizza dough instructions or your own or even the pre-packaged completed dough, if you prefer.
If you’re using homemade pizza dough, try to refrigerate it for at least 4 hours or overnight if you can.
Pillsbury makes a pizza dough you can buy in the refrigerator section if you prefer a ready-made version.
With a thin crust like this, it only takes 15-20 minutes to cook in the oven. If you prefer a thick crust, you may want to pre-cook it beforehand.

Ingredients
- ½ recipe Pizza Dough
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- ½ cup Heavy Cream
- ½ teaspoon Pepper
- ½ teaspoon Braggs Sprinkle Seasoning, or other Italian seasoning
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- ½ cup Baby Spinach, chopped
- ½ cup Chicken Breast, cooked, shredded or chopped
- 2 ounces Canned Mushrooms
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- Cooking Spray, like Pam
Instructions
- If you are using homemade pizza dough, begin at least 3 hours before you plan to prepare the pizza to complete the kneading and rising process. It's better to refrigerate for 3 or more hours after that, but it's not entirely necessary, if you're in a time crunch. Halve the dough equally and roll out on a lightly floured surface. If you're not using homemade pizza dough, prepare according to instructions.
- Preheat oven to 425℉.
- Alfredo Sauce: In small saucepan on low head, melt butter. Add heavy cream, stirring frequently until cream is just hot enough to boil but not boiling. Very slowly pour in grated Parmesan, stirring constantly, until sauce is the consistency you like. You will need about ¾ to 1 cup cheese.
- Spray pizza pan with cooking spray. Place pizza dough on pan and pinch the edges a little, if you like. This helps to catch the sauce from spilling over.
- Spread alfredo sauce on pizza. Evenly distribute chopped spinach, chicken and mushrooms. Top with Mozzarella cheese.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until done. Cool slightly and cut into 8 pieces.
